Ez-Kar – MoEc Conducts Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting

Ez-Kar – MoEc conducted the Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the purpose of addressing the project challenges and to further strengthen coordination between the Implementing Agencies (IA). The meeting was chaired by Her Excellency Dr. Karima Hamid Faryabi, the Minister of Economy, in presence of the Deputy Ministers and Directors from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations, Independent Directorate of Local Governance, Kabul Municipality and the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting began with the opening speech by Minister of Economy, emphasizing the existing capacities in the Ministry of Economy and implementing agencies, and considering International standards and the principle of Transparency and Accountability, stressed the concern on Project’s low budget utilization, delays in project implementation and lack of effective coordination amongst IAs.
Subsequently, Matiullah Jahed, the Executive Director of the EZ-Kar provided comprehensive information on the recent Implementation Support Mission (ISM) evaluation results, the achievements/challenges of the project and the ISM agreed actions.
Following that, the Deputy Ministers and Directors of the aforementioned stakeholders discussed the agreed actions of ISM and further stressed the importance of joint efforts in strengthening effective coordination for an effective and time bound implementation. The meeting ended up with the closing remarks of the Minister of Economy.
